So Glad it is Over

This year's T-ball/baseball season has come to a close...thank goodness. Not that I don't enjoy watching my girls play, but let's just say that I didn't enjoy my time at the fields (and getting ready to go) as much without Justin there to help.

Char was playing 2nd base....I think she is ready for whatever comes her way. ;)

I have a lot more pictures of Charlee than Syd, but I have an explanation for that...it is hard to take pics when I am trying to watch the game and 2 little girls who want to run around, so I brought my cam to Syd's last game to try and get some pics. I think Justee was determined to make my evening a miserable one. She threw fit after fit and everyone around us got to listen to her scream. fun stuff
Here Syd is getting a grounder in warm-ups.

She was supposed to be catching a pop fly this time...she didn't quite make the catch....at least she didn't cry. :)Getting a hit:

After Sydnee's game, her team had a little party. Luckily hot dogs and cupcakes kept Justee from throwing any more fits...until it was time to go.
At least my night ended on a good note...I got to see this sunset:

I have mentioned before that I love to look for shapes in clouds...I found a shape in the negative space of the clouds this time. What do you see?
I see a dragon/alligator type head. You see it too?

Cousins

I stole these pics off of Vicki's blog, but I wanted to have them in my blog book (if I ever get my 2008 one done.;)
My two sisters, my older brother and I had baby girls all within 4 months of each other. It has been fun watching them grow and play together. It's kind of hard to believe that they are 7 now (well, Hailee will be 7 next month.) Here is a picture of them as babies in the same order- Hailee, Allie, Natasha, and Sydnee:

PC

Justin heard today that he made Pilot in Command. I'll try to explain a little about this. There are 5 men to a crew on the air craft: 2 medics, a crew chief, a pilot, and a pilot in command. The PC is in charge of the air craft. He makes all the decisions about whether or not to take the missions, and how the missions will be flown. The responsibility for every one's safety falls on the PC. As far as I understand it, the PC can have the pilot do the flying while he navigates, or he can take the controls when he wants to.
This is definitely a step up, but I'm not sure Justin is completely convinced that he wants all this new responsibility. ;)
In order to become a PC, a pilot needs: at least 500 hours of fly time, to pass a check ride (sort of a flying test,) and pass an interview with the Board (Board of what I'm not sure...just Flight Board maybe?) I think those are the basic requirements. Justin is at 605 hours. He has been flying for 4 years now (including flight school) and almost 200 of those hours have been logged in Afghanistan. It makes sense that the majority of his hours would come in the past 9 months, while he is doing this as his full-time job for the first time. All the previous hours were logged while he had a regular civilian full-time job to worry about too.
Justin's capabilities are endless, and I am proud of him.

Our Girls

Things started off rough with Justee telling Charlee and Sydnee to be quiet...at least they got a kick out of it.

Again, Char was being scolded for saying too much:

This is how we all felt by the end of this:

Miss Sydnee Jill:

Miss Charlee Elizabeth:

and finally, the pain in the ... Miss Justee Rose:

She did not want her picture taken, and it took some very strategic maneuverings and a little help from Sydnee to get these few shots.

Couch or Canvas?

This is Justee's beautiful artwork: Luckily it came out after some scrubbing. There is a hint of color in some spots...I'm sure after one more good scrubbing, there will be no traces of this masterpiece.
That girl is trouble I tell ya.

Last of R&R

This will be my last post about the the things we did while Justin was home for R&R.

After Sydnee's B-day party, we headed up to Lovell to visit family. Justin's brother Steven has a two-seater bicycle, and we get a kick out of taking it for a spin...Syd and Char even got in on the action this time.

I don't think Chuck could see much through her hair.

Justin got to go golfing with my Dad on his birthday and my bro Rob and bro-in-law Jake. Justin had a lot of fun...even if the only person he beat was Jake. :)

Justin's dad was nice enough to take us all fishing one day too. We went for the purpose of the girls having fun. We went to an easy in easy out spot and fished for about an hour and a half. Our niece Sienna and Aletha came along too. All the girls got to catch a fish, but we didn't keep any of them...they were all carp except for one tiny sun fish that Char caught. Can you believe there is a fish in that mess? We kept thinking she lost the fish because we couldn't even see it as she was reeling it in.
She sure was proud of her catch though.

Here is proof that a fish was hiding under all the gunk:
Justee and Sienna wanted to "hold" the fish too. When we presented the offer to hold the actual fish, they all passed.
We got up early the next morning because Justin decided he wanted to run in the Byron Days Fun Run. Char and Syd heard us talking about it and wanted to run again too. We ran the 5k and the girls ran the mile. My sister Ashlee was kind enough to keep Justee for me and my mom ran with Charlee again...Syd ran up ahead of them. I was worried that Justin would beat me, but I ended up beating him by a couple of mins. We both won our age groups though, and Sydnee only missed winning hers by like 7 secs or something...she would have ran faster if she wasn't running alone I'm sure.
Once we made it back home, we were very busy...we went to the girls' Tball/baseball games and Tae Kwon Do classes, Water World, Justin and I had our night out to dinner and a movie, had some friends over who made us some authentic sushi, and then it was time to say good bye again. I really miss Justin and his help around the house. He sure makes things a lot more fun, so it seems dull around here. Can't wait to get him back!
