Playmates

We hang out with the Nicholls a lot, and the fact that they share a fence with us makes that easier. Cherelle is usually watching my girls for me, but today I watched her two youngest boys. The girls are always excited when they get to play with the Nicholls boys. Charlee and Jayden are about the same age and Justee and Jace are only two weeks apart. They all play really good together. There have been several times that we are out in public together and people ask us if Justee and Jace are twins. Today we went to Sam's Club together and two ladies asked us if they were twins. When I said no, they said "Then they must be related." Nope, they are just two cute babies! Another lady asked Jayden if Charlee was his sister. Jayden nodded his head and smiled. It was pretty cute. (He must not understand what a sister is since he only has brothers; but he can call Charlee his sister all he wants.)

Just Some Pictures

Justee has less hair than Syd and Chaz had at her age (and Charlee had twice as much as Syd), so I was excited when I could put a little pony in it for the first time. Justee was laughing and loving it while I combed her hair, and Justin thought she looked so funny that he took some pictures. The 2nd pic is of the end result.

Here is a picture of Charlee fixing her pony's hair. She does this a lot. I think it is cute until I catch her using water, hairspray, or detangling spray.
The girls have been playing in this car a lot over the past few days. Sydnee brought it up from the basement and they have been driving it all over the house. Justee wants to do everything like her sisters, so she climbs right in. I thought it was cute when I looked up and saw she had gotten in the car all by herself and was pretending to drive. I can't believe how big she is getting.

Paper Dolls

I have been cutting out paper dolls for our Stake Relief Society Enrichment Activity on Sat. I just found out that due to President Hinckley's funeral, it has been postponed. I only hope my dolls can make it safely to the new date. I cut out over 50 of these dolls and had to cut out several more because many suffered loss of limbs at the hands of Miss Justee Rose. I guess I need to be more careful about where I put things. You'd think I would have learned this by my 3rd child.

Who looks like who?

The results of these face comparisons were kind of fun, so I thought I'd post them. I think all three girls are way better looking than either of their parents. I guess the conclusion from the ones with just the girls is that Sydnee looks the most different. Maybe that is because the other two have younger looking faces or something. I guess Syd is the one who looks more like her Dad, so that could be why. It was fun to mess around with anyway.

Cartoons, Cartoons, Cartoons

Charlee has hit a big cartoon phase. She loves to watch cartoons and has a complete meltdown if I change the channel. If she isn't watching closely and a commercial comes on, I get accused of changing the channel. She goes around singing the Wonder Pets theme but Dora and Diego are her all time favorites. She gets so excited when they come on and she makes sure to let me know that I can't change the channel if they are coming up next. I know she probably watches too much T.V., but I would never get as much done in a day without good ol' Dora.

11 Months Old

Justee is now 11 months old. She thinks she is so big now. Once she started walking she decided she should get to do everything her sisters are doing. I forgot how much harder they are to keep up with once they walk. The most common phrase used at out house is "Justee no!" and all of us say it.
Some quick things about her:
She loves to dance
shakes her head at you
loves to hug the cat (mauls it)
has 5 teeth
loves bananas
waves

The Dentist

Sydnee had to get a tooth pulled at the dentist today.
She didn't like it very much, which explains the look on her face in the picture. Justin went with her while I stayed with the other girls. He didn't like it very much either. Sydnee didn't cry at all, but she was pretty scared after she felt the first shot. She has to go back to get another tooth fixed and I don't think she is very interested in going back to the dentist. Now she gets to put her tooth under her pillow for the Tooth Fairy though, and she is excited about that.
We went to Fort Fun on Sat. and had a really fun time with the girls. They loved playing all the little arcade games and getting tickets. At the end Sydnee and Charlee picked out some prizes to buy with their tickets. Among other things, they both picked out little flashlights. By the end of the night Charlee's had stopped working. When Sydnee was done at the dentist she got to pick out a toy. They happened to have the same little flashlights, and Sydnee (being the wonderful big sister she is) picked out a flashlight. She said it was for Charlee because her flashlight broke. I was touched that after Sydnee had to suffer at the dentist, she still thought of someone else first; and she didn't pick out a toy for herself but for her sister. What a sweet girl.

Justee is Walking

It is so nice when all three girls can play together without fighting. First thing in the morning is the best time for that. Justee is usually the first one up, and when the she hears Sydnee and Charlee getting up she heads straight for their room. She loves her big sisters and no one can make her laugh like they can.
Time seems to fly by these days. Justee is already walking. She falls a lot still, but she'll walk everywhere she wants to go. I think kids should be able to walk across the entire room consistently before you can say they are really walking, and Justee does that now. She also says kitty kitty and mama and dada.

Ouch!

Charlee was in the middle of saying our family prayer last night when we heard a loud bang. Justee had fallen and hit her face on one of the end tables. Her tooth cut her lip and she started screaming. Charlee and Sydnee saw all the blood on their sister's face and they started crying too. We calmed everyone down and finished prayers. It was sweet to see how concerned for Justee Sydnee and Charlee were. Justee will probably have a fat lip for a few days, but she is ok.

Birthday Box

On Wed. Sydnee got to celebrate her birthday at school. Her real birthday is on the 4th of July, so her teacher set up a day around her half bday to bring a treat to school and fill the bday box. We made fruit pizza and she got to put whatever she wanted in the box to show her classmates (this takes the place of show-and-tell). She put her parrot, 2 of her favorite movies, and two medals she won running in 1 mile races in the box. We programmed Squawkers to say "Hi class", Abc's, count, and "bye Ms. Jensen's class." Sydnee was very excited for school that day.

Sound Asleep

Charlee has always fallen asleep in the strangest places and in the weirdest positions (usually with her bum in the air). I usually take a picture when I find her in these positions, So I thought it would be fun to compile them. Charlee asleep in Justee's new car seat with her Bush Baby and Pink Baby.
Asleep on the bathroom floor. Luckily I just cleaned it, that is why she is in there.
Just crashed on the living room floor with her big baby and Bush Baby.
She is in the corner behind a chair. She was playing with a box of tissues she knew she wasn't supposed to have, so she was hiding back there.
Same outfit, but different day. She put her snow boots on (in the summer)and fell asleep on the stairs.
Syd and Charlee were watching cartoons and Charlee fell asleep across Syd's lap.
This was on her first bday. She was playing with her toys and just bent over and fell asleep. It is funny how she fell asleep on Syd's lap twice like this. Again, the girls were watching cartoons and Charlee fell asleep.
Just crashed on the living room floor in Alabama.
This isn't where she fell asleep, but I think it is such a cute sleeping picture. This is in Disney World with King Louie.

Fish Fiasco

When we got home after the New Year, our fish tank was so dirty I couldn't believe it. It took me 2 hours to clean it! After I got it all pretty again I decided we needed a few more fish. Sydnee loved the idea but it took a little more to convince Justin. Of course we finally went and got some more fish. Syd and Charlee were excited and both got to pick some out. (They love the pet store.) When I was getting ready to put them into the tank I needed to drain the water from the bags, so I took them to the kitchen sink and poked a hole in the bags. The big fish were too big to fall out, but we had a couple little ones that could fit through. Sydnee had just warned me not to let them go down the drain when one fell...yes, down the drain. Sydnee started bawling and I didn't know what to do. Justin told me to reach in and get it out. I felt for it and found it. Yuck! It freaked me out and I pulled my hand out. With Syd crying and feeling bad for the poor fish myself, I had to get it out. After a few more attempts, I finally saved the fish and put it in the tank. It swam around and looked fine. Sydnee was so happy; I still don't think she has noticed that the next morning it was dead:( Poor fish.

Vinyl Writing

Last night we got a pretty cool addition to our big bare wall. I decided I wanted something like this done for my Christmas present. It is vinyl lettering that sticks to the wall. Abbey Chase (a lady in our ward) runs a business in which she does all kinds of stuff like this. She and her husband were kind enough to come put it up for us, since there is no way Justin would get that high up on a ladder. Plus I think they did a far better job than we could have.

This is the biggest collage (I guess that's what you call it) Abbey has ever done. It took almost three hours to measure and put each piece up in the correct place. It was quite an ordeal, but I think the end result was worth it. I really like it, and it is much much nicer than the big bare wall. I already have future projects in mind for other rooms ;)

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. We stayed in Loveland and had our first Christmas alone. It was nice, but we missed our family too. We were glad my little brother Mark stopped on his way up to Lovell and stayed with us for a few days before Christmas. We also went to Lovell the day after Christmas and stayed through the first of Jan. We had a great time playing Wii with the Burtons and Hearts with my parents. Sydnee and Charlee did a lot of coloring with Grandma Hyde. We ate a great New Years' prime rib dinner with Justin's family and I got to kick Pat, Steven, and Dustin's butts' in Fusion Frenzy:). So, I guess you could say we had a wonderful holiday season.

The girls all seemed very happy with
Santa's and everyone else's gifts. Sydnee said she got just what she wanted. Syd and Charlee both love the little purses with a baby inside that their Grandma Durtsche made.

Charlee loves her stuff as well as Sydnee's and Justee's stuff, she plays with all of it. I'm glad Sydnee has been good about sharing. Justin was happy to see that not one gift was overlooked.

Justee loves her piano and music player that the Thompson's gave her. She carries it all around and dances to the music.
